Privacy
We keep very little, and keep it close.
What we keep about you, why, for how long, and who else sees it. In short: what you send us, so we can reply, and visits counted on our own server, without cookies. Updated 27 October 2026.
Who we are
This is the website of Driven Innovations Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (number 15698962), at 7/8 Avon Reach, Chippenham, Wiltshire, SN15 1EE. We decide what happens to the personal data the site collects, which makes us its controller. We're registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, under reference ZC278139.
Anything about your data, email [email protected].
When you get in touch
If you send us an enquiry through the contact page, we keep your name, your email address, your organisation if you give it, what it's about, and your message. It's stored in our own database and emailed to us, so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation.
If you email us directly, we have your email address and whatever you choose to write.
The form also checks, without keeping anything, that it wasn't filled in by a machine: how quickly it came back, and whether too many have come from the same place at once. Anything that looks like spam is kept, marked as spam and not emailed, so a real message caught by mistake can be found.
Counting visits
We count visits to the site ourselves, on our own server, so we know what's working and what isn't. There are no cookies, nothing is stored on your device, and nothing goes to anyone else: no analytics companies, no advertisers.
For each page you open, we record:
- the page, how long it was on your screen, and how far down it you got;
- the website that sent you, by its name only (google.com, say), or the campaign a link was tagged with;
- the kind of device and browser you're using, from the details your browser sends anyway (a phone running Safari, say), and your country, if our network passes it on.
To count you once a day rather than once a page, we mix your IP address and browser details with a secret that's made fresh each day, and keep only the result. Each day's secret is deleted the next day, so the result can't be turned back into your address, or used to recognise you on another day. Your IP address itself is never stored.
If your browser asks sites not to track you (Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track), we don't count your visits at all.
Why, and on what basis
- Replying when you get in touch, and keeping a record of the conversation. Our basis is our legitimate interest in answering you and working with you.
- Counting visits, to see which pages help and which don't. Our basis is our legitimate interest in running a useful website. The counts can't identify you.
- Keeping the site secure and working. Your browser sends technical details with every request, such as your IP address. We use them, briefly and only in memory, to stop our forms being flooded, and our hosting providers use them to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. Our basis is our legitimate interest in a site that stays up.
Who else sees it
A few providers help us run the site. They only act on our instructions, and their contracts require them to protect your data.
- DigitalOcean hosts the website and its database, on servers in London, so it holds what's described above.
- Cloudflare runs the network DigitalOcean uses to deliver and protect websites, so your visits, including your IP address, pass through it, and it sets a cookie of its own to keep bots out (see cookies).
- Resend sends our emails, so it handles your enquiry on its way to us.
- Our email provider holds our inbox, so it holds your enquiry, and any email you send us.
Beyond them, we'll only share your data if the law requires it, for example a valid request from the police or a court. We never sell it.
Data outside the UK
What the site keeps is stored in London, but DigitalOcean, Cloudflare and Resend are American companies, and some of their work happens in the United States and elsewhere. Wherever your data goes, it's protected by the safeguards UK law requires: the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which UK law recognises as giving adequate protection, or the UK's approved contract clauses for international transfers.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries, for up to two years, then we delete them. Anything marked as spam goes after 30 days.
- Visit counts, for two years. Each day's secret for counting visitors is deleted the next day.
- Our hosting providers keep technical logs for a short time, then delete them automatically.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- a copy of the data we hold about you;
- have it corrected if it's wrong;
- have it deleted;
- restrict how we use it, or object to it;
- have it sent to you, or to someone else, in a format you can take elsewhere.
To use any of them, email [email protected]. It's free, and we'll reply within a month. We may need to check it's really you first.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If we change how we use your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change matters, and we have a way to tell you, we will.
