The lab
We obsess over details
Every small detail matters to us, and the lab is where we show them: case studies from our recent work, and how we made it. Most are from Find a Drive, our app for finding and planning great drives on British roads, and one is our own mark. What we made, how, why, and some of the things we got wrong first.

The drive viewer
How Find a Drive draws every route on a contour map of the land it crosses, plays it out stop by stop, then opens it in 3D to look round the hills or fly the road.

A nod and the glovebox
Find a Drive's buttons for liking a drive and keeping it for later, drawn from what drivers already do: a finger lifted off the wheel, and a map in the glovebox.

The Logbook
An idea for a small device that plugs into a car and records every drive, rendered as if it had been made: a ceramic lid, Find a Drive's F pressed into it, and a ring that lights in its owner's colour.

The fingerpost F
Find a Drive's mark, from folded maps to a road sign that's also an F, in four rounds and three days.

The keyring
Find a Drive's mark, the fingerpost F, as a 50mm keyring tag in black anodised aluminium with diamond-cut edges: a 3D render, made to see whether the mark works as a real object.
